Artificial Intelligence between creativity and threat
Artificial intelligence between creativity and threat reflects humanity’s dual challenge, harnessing AI’s power for innovation while confronting its ethical risks that may endanger values, morality, and human responsibility in the modern world.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) has transformed the modern world and human behaviour. In addition, AI now has a great effect in all fields of life, from healthcare and education to communication and industry. Moreover, AI now shapes how people think, work, and interact. Smart machines and algorithms can analyse massive data, predict outcomes, and even create art. However, as AI becomes more advanced, it raises deep ethical and spiritual questions about consciousness, morality, and responsibility.
A key concern in AI ethics is whether machines can develop awareness or moral accountability. Although AI emulates human reasoning and emotions, it lacks true consciousness, free will, and moral intention. In Islam, morality comes from human intention (niyyah) and accountability before Allah.
The Qur’an emphasizes that responsibility is uniquely human:
Surah Al-Ahzab (33:72):
“Indeed, We offered the Trust to the heavens and the earth and the mountains, and they declined to bear it… but man [undertook to] bear it.”
Islam views knowledge and technology as divine blessings that people use for good.
The Qur’an declares:
Surah Al-Jathiya (45:13)
“And He has subjected to you whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. “
This verse highlights that innovation, including artificial intelligence, must serve humanity, not enslave it. Islam encourages technological progress that promotes justice, compassion, and balance (mizan).
The concept of Green AI and Sustainable Development with AI aligns with Islamic teachings about environmental responsibility and moderation. In addition, AI can support eco-friendly solutions, reduce energy consumption, and protect natural resources. Moreover, this reflects the Qur’anic principle of stewardship (khilafah), where humans act as guardians of the Earth, ensuring technology benefits all creation.
While innovation is encouraged, Islam warns against crossing ethical boundaries. Artificial intelligence becomes harmful when it invades privacy, manipulates truth, or replaces human compassion.
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said:
“There should be neither harm nor reciprocating harm.”
(Hadith: Ibn Majah)
This principle, along with “al-darar yuzal” (harm must be removed), guides Muslims to ensure that technological advancement does not harm individuals or society.

In conclusion, the rise of AI requires a universal moral framework rooted in divine guidance. Besides, Islam provides a balanced vision, encouraging creativity and innovation while protecting human dignity and moral values. As AI continues to shape the future, the Islamic approach reminds us that true progress is not only in what we create but in how responsibly we use it.
AI can threaten creativity by replacing human imagination with algorithmic patterns, reducing originality, emotional depth, and the unique artistic expression that comes from human experience.
Artificial intelligence can be a threat by enabling misinformation and ethical misuse, undermining privacy and moral responsibility if not guided by human and Islam values.
