The term “Islam” comes from the Arabic word “سلام” and is pronounced as “Salam” and means peace. So, Islam signifies complete submission to the will of Allah and this submission brings peace to the individual and society.
The Muslim religion is Islam in which Muslims believe in one God “Allah”. In addition, they consider Muhammad the final prophet in a long line of messengers, including other messengers like Abraham, Moses, and Jesus. Moreover, the core beliefs and practices of Islam are in the Five Pillars. They include the declaration of faith (Shahada), prayer (Salat), fasting during Ramadan (Sawm), giving to charity (Zakat), and pilgrimage to Mecca (Hajj).
Muslim believes in God and his last messenger Mohamed and follow his teachings in the Quran. Besides that, the word “Muslim” is derived from “Islam” which means believing in Islam and God’s faith. In addition, the goal of a Muslim’s life is to worship Allah, follow His guidance, and seek His pleasure. Finally they hope of attaining Paradise in the afterlife.
Islam is a religion that includes a comprehensive way of life like religious rituals and guidance on ethical, social, and legal matters. Besides, Islam also places a strong emphasis on social justice and the welfare of the community. In addition, Muslims are encouraged to help those in need, uphold justice, and promote peace. The religion teaches that all humans are equal in the eyes of God, and it rejects any form of discrimination based on race, ethnicity, or social status.
