His character

Abu Bakr Abdullah bin Othman bin Amer al-Qurashi al-Taymi in relation to Bani Taym bin Marra. His father was called Abu Qahhafa, his mother, Umm al-Khair Bint Sakher bin Amer, the daughter of his father’s uncle. He was born two years and six months after Year of the Elephant. He was nicknamed Abu Bakr and he loved him although he did not have a son in this name. Being a rich man with dignity and good morals, he was known in Quraysh.

He had three sons and three daughters; Abd al-Rahman, Abdullah, Muhammad, Asma, Aisha, and Umm Kulthoum.

His Support to the Prophet Muhammad

Abu Bakr was described with AL- Siddiq (The Truthful) because he believed in the prophethood of Mohammed without doubt. Since he trusted the sincerity and truthfulness of Muhammad, he was the first man converted to Islam. One of the important examples about his great faith for the prophet Muhammed is his belief of The Isra’ (Night Journey) and the Mi’raj (Ascension into the Heavens) of the Prophet through AL-Buraq. When the unbelieved people came to Abu- Bakr to go to his friend Mohammed, and some of Muslims backed to unbelief, he said I do believe the Prophet for more of that. In addition, he defended the Messanger many times, for example, Narrated `Urwa bin Az-Zubair: I asked `Abdullah bin `Amr, “What was the worst thing the pagans did to Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ)?” He said, “I saw `Uqba bin Abi Mu’ait coming to the Prophet (ﷺ) while he was praying.’ `Uqba put his sheet round the Prophet’s neck and squeezed it very severely. Abu Bakr came and pulled `Uqba away from the Prophet and said, “Do you intend to kill a man just because he says: ‘My Lord is Allah, and he has brought forth to you the Evident Signs from your Lord?”

Because Abu Bakr always supported the Messenger in both financial and moral support, he had the right to possess Mohammad’s love.  Narrated `Amr bin Al-As: The Prophet (ﷺ) deputed me to read the Army of Dhat-as-Salasil. I came to him and said, “Who is the most beloved person to you?” He said, ” `Aisha.” I asked, “Among the men?” He said, “Her father.” I said, “Who then?” He said, “Then `Umar bin Al-Khattab.” He then named other men. Also Mohammed -peace be upon him- said:  “of all people the most generous toward me in regard to his companionship and his property was Abu Bakr and were I to choose anyone as my bosom friend, I would have chosen Abu Bakr as my dear friend”. He was the first caliph of the Rashidun after the death of Prophet Mohamad.
