Legislative Miraculousness of the Quran

Generally, Allah the Almighty sent his Messengers and Prophets, in order to improve the life in all its aspects. Especially, the Qur’an was and still the best divine book at all, as It was revealed by Allah to give details and to differentiate between truth and falsehood.  “Blessed is He who sent down the Criterion upon His Servant that he may be to the worlds a warner” {Al-furqan. Verse 1}

“And We have sent down to you the Book as clarification for all things and as guidance and mercy and good tidings for the Muslims.” {An- Nahl. Verse 89}

It means that people are unable to put the right provisions and laws that rule their life in all aspects like what Qur’an has include. And the good thing that Qur’an has rules, advice and recommendations to avoid problems, and It gives solutions for sins.

There are many examples of legislative miraculousness of Qur’an. Firstly, Quran forbid Muslim from eating swine, but others wonder why?

It was mentioned in the Holly Quran ”I do not find within that which was revealed to me [anything] forbidden to one who would eat it unless it be a dead animal or blood spilled out or the flesh of swine – for indeed, it is impure – or it be [that slaughtered in] disobedience, dedicated to other than Allāh.” {Al- Anaam. Verse 145}

It is forbidden since it is impure, dirty, harm for health, that’s because it lives with dirtiness and even eats bad things like rubbish and excrement, so that’s causes diseases. Besides, it has bad behaviors like destruction of farms and fields, and attacking people.

And to prove mercy of Islam; there is an important rule which is {Necessities allow prohibitions}. The complement of the last mentioned Verse of Al-Anaam Surah “But whoever is forced [by necessity], neither desiring [it] nor transgressing [its limit], then indeed, your Lord is Forgiving and Merciful.” {Al-Anaam. Verse 145}

That means the person can eat some of what is forbidden in the case of hanger with no other food, for example.

So legislative miraculousness of Qur’an is distinguished of being easy in application and flexible and suitable for all different conditions.

Another example, Allah mentioned in Qur’an that marriage of breast-feeding brothers and sisters {Alridaea brothers and sisters} is forbidden….  But why?!

Before justifying this rule, it is necessary to explain what the breast-feeding brothers and sisters’ term means…

When the boy or girl were infant {two year age or less} breastfed by the same woman who is the biological mother for one of them; both of them will become brother and sister by breast feeding, or what we call milk brother or milk sister

In this case, they will have at least some of the same hereditary traits or even genetic diseases; that’s why Islam forbid marriage of milk brother with his milk sisters, and the breast fed son with his non biological ,but she is at the same time his breast feeding mother. Even that, there are some results of this marriage are good, but Islam always offers the best for humanity by taking reasons of good.

It is worth mentioning that Legislative Miraculousness in Islam is distinct as it is easy to be applied. Allah says: “Allah charges no soul except to its capacity” {AL-BAQARA.Verse 286}. For example, Ablution {Wudu} is necessary before praying, but if there are some cases and conditions that are hard to do that like some kind of skin sensitization, or coldness of water, or loss of water; here Tayammum will be allowed whereby one may wipe one’s face and arms with dust in a specifically detailed way. Allah says” and you find no water, then take for yourselves clean sand or earth, and rub therewith your faces and hands, Allah doth not wish to place you in a difficulty, but to make you clean, and to complete his favour to you, that ye may be grateful.” {Al- Ma’idah. Verse 6} the end of the last verse shows the mercy of Allah for his believers.
