First: Who is Allah?

Allah is the Arabic word for God in Islam. Muslims believe that there is He is the only one and only true God, the creator of the universe, and the sustainer of all existence. The concept of God in Islam is central to the Islamic faith and encompasses various attributes and characteristics that define the nature of God.

Actually, in Islam Allah is the only God, however, the God in Islam is different from the faith of other non-Muslims. So, God in Islam is “Allah” as the witnesses of Muslims are “There is no God but Allah”. Besides, He has no partners, associates, or equals.

Second: What is the Difference between Allah and God?

Allah: It’s the Arabic word for God and Arabic-speaking Muslims use it, Christians, and Jews to refer to the supreme being. However, for each religion, it has a different meaning as Muslims mean the only God. But in Christianity, they mean the Trinity.

God: In English, “God” is the term used to refer to the supreme being worshipped in Christianity, Judaism, and Islam, as well as other monotheistic faiths.

Third: How is God described in Islam?

In Islam, Allah’s appearance is beyond human comprehension and depiction:

• Allah is considered utterly transcendent and beyond the physical realm. Besides, He is not bound by time, space, or physical characteristics.
• Humans cannot comprehend or visualize him. In addition, The Quran states, “There is nothing like unto Him, and He is the All-Hearer, the All-Seer” (Surah Ash-Shura 42:11).
• Instead of physical descriptions, Islam focuses on the names and attributes of Allah, known as The 99 Beautiful Names of Allah. There are many attributes of God in Islam that describe him which are also Allah’s name such as:

1. Oneness (Al-Wahed): Islam is strictly monotheistic, and the belief in the oneness of Allah is fundamental.

1. Merciful (Al-Rahman): he is infinitely merciful and compassionate towards His creation.
2. The All-Knowing (Al-Alim): he possesses complete and perfect knowledge of everything, including the past, present, and future.
3. The All-Powerful (Al-Qadir): he has absolute power and authority over all things, so Nothing occurs without His will and permission.
4. Creator (Al-Khaliq): he is the creator of the entire universe and everything within it.
5. The Sustainer (Al-Razzaq): he provides sustenance and support to all His creation.
6. Just (Al-Adl): he is perfectly just and fair in all His dealings. In addition, He ensures that justice prevails and that everyone receives their due.
7. The Wise (Al-Hakim): his wisdom is perfect and absolute. Moreover, His actions and decrees are based on profound wisdom.

In conclusion, Allah is the name of God in Islam. This term refers to God by both Arabic-speaking Muslims and non-Muslims and also includes the general meaning of the word “God” in Arabic.
